US overtakes China as Germany’s largest trading partner in 2023

Germany’s trade with the United States has surpassed China for the first time since 2015, with a slight increase to 252.8 billion euros in 2023, while trade with China fell by 3.1 per cent. Germany’s exports to the U.S. grew, leading to a significant trade surplus, while its trade deficit with China widened.
