Pakistan’s $240m Gwadar airport stands ready—But no flights, no passengers

Pakistan’s new Gwadar airport, funded by China, remains unused since its completion in October 2024. Despite being the largest in Pakistan and part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the airport has no scheduled flights and has not benefited the local population, raising concerns about its utility.
