In other matches, Nodirbek Abdusattorov drew against Fabiano Caruana, while Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu was defeated by Anish Giri. Arjun Erigaisi drew with defending champion Wei Yi, and Pentala Harikrishna lost to Vladimir Fedoseev.
